Cape Coral Yacht Club
March 24th, 2009 by Kevin & Lynne Berry
When we first dreamed of moving to the Sunshine state, we had no idea of the good fortune we found when we stumbled upon Cape Coral. As we continued on our adventure searching for a new home, we found the Yacht Club area which we instantly fell in love with. We loved the mix of the past and the present, the lifestyle and the location. Street after street with a canal in the backyard was almost too much to imagine, and yet the area was still close to downtown Cape Coral’s shopping and businesses.
When we bought our home in 2001, we could not relocate here yet so we rented it for the first two years. We counted the days until we could make the move and we have never looked back.
We moved to Cape Coral from Cape Cod in 2003. Kevin retired from the Air Force and Lynne left the education field, and we soon began working full time in real estate. We found our neighbors welcoming and helpful. Every one seemed to come from someplace else and remembered being the new kids on the block. We quickly made many new friends. Each individual street that makes up the Yacht Club area is a neighborhood within itself. People know their neighbors and they tend to work together to keep their street looking great and help one another out when needed.
The Rosen brother’s dream began here in the Yacht Club and then spread throughout the rest of Cape Coral. We are grateful that their dream is now our
reality.
